Little River, SC

Little River is a census-designated place (CDP) in Horry County, South Carolina, United States. The population was 8,960 at the 2010 census. Little River is named for the Little River, which flows into the Atlantic at the border between North and South Carolina. The inlet has long been a breakpoint for tropical cyclone warnings.

Established: March 14th 19+4 Formerly call Roach's Beach, the town changed ownership in 1962 and adopted the new name, Little River.

Major Events: Annual Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony, an auto show featuring antique cars and severalstreet festivals including a barbecue and bluegrass event in March and a fall family .  Sunday Serenades concert series runs at a park beside the library featuring local acoustic musicians.
